MCAS
"True change doesn't originate from a select few in power but arises from the collective power of the people."
The journey towards change is enduring, not a swift or immediate transition, but rather a gradual evolution fueled by the unwavering dedication of grassroots efforts. Organizing, far from being simple or fast, is the result of sustained endeavors spanning many years—such as the deep organizing led by New Bedford educators, parents, and students, who sacrifice their weeknights and weekends to resist the standardized testing regime.
Regrettably, the media often overlooks these efforts, masking the essence of systemic transformation.
True change doesn't originate from a select few in power but arises from the collective power of the people. It's the sustained commitment of ordinary individuals that holds those in power accountable, reminding us that systemic change is a collaborative endeavor.
This is our work, and together we hold the power to enact change and construct the quality public schools we rightfully deserve.
This is the year that we eliminate the MCAS graduation requirement.
